The family business started operating in 1970 following a steady course of development based on three principles: excellence – investment – innovation.
By 1976 the company was already active in the processing of limbs, stomachs and trade of animal fats, meats and various meat products. Back then the company was based in Agios Georgios Rizariou, Edessa.
Six years later, our activities expanded including the creation of the animal fat melting facility while, at the same time, refrigeration facilities were constructed for the preservation of raw materials and finished products.
The arrival of new millennium found VORAS as the first company of its kind in Greece, making significant investments.
In 2006, the headquarters of the company were moved to Mousga Rizariou, on a privately owned plot of 33,000 sq.m. The building complex of the unit occupies 3,000 sq.m. and is equipped with the most modern machinery.
In 2018 we made a significant investment by upgrading and expanding the company’s refrigeration facilities.
The impressive cleanliness of the premises and the strict specifications that are followed in all the operating and management procedures reflect the non-negotiable commitment of the company to quality, hygiene, safety and sustainability.
